Members only: Addendum to Investment Advice
My public post on the Truth About Investment Advice is important for Privatized Bankers and everyone else.
Since every “investment” ad from Wall Street has its disclaimer of “past performance does not guarantee future results” this means you can lose everything. Sure, that hasn’t happened to everyone or most everyone, but you can sure lose 30% of everything, like in 2008. Our next market “correction” may set new lows. I hope to spread our message to as many folks as possible before then. If you know someone who could get hurt financially, clue them in or let me discuss it with them.
What risks and unknowns do we face as Privatized Bankers?
Fact: Our financial institution has never failed.
Fact: Our cash values can never go down.
Fact: Once a dividend is awarded, that can never go down.
What do we not know about dividends? We don’t know what next year’s dividend will be.
That’s it.
What confidence do we have in our projections? For me, I like to think about 100+ unbroken years of dividends. Some say that if the sun comes up every day, then it probably will tomorrow. Yes, the amount of the dividend has been higher, and that reflects the true value of the growth of our economy. There is no greater buffer on bubbles and fake markets than carefully planned long-term bonds, from which the bulk of our dividends come.
As Bankers, our savings and wealth storage plan remains solid, cutting through the ups and downs of the crazy Wall Street game. We can relax. We can then spend our time on the hard and valuable work of researching or creating investments that we understand deeply. Then we take risks as we see fit when we see fit.
Far better than being a sheep to the slaughter.
